MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 24-year-old Brainerd woman was sentenced Tuesday to more than four years in prison in connection with an incident where she hit and killed a bicyclist while under the influence, according to the Cass County Attorney.

Kerri Marie Zelinske pleaded guilty in January of criminal vehicular homicide in the death of 57-year-old Leonard Grabowski on Oct. 10, 2013.

According to the charges, Zelinske was driving south on Cass County Road 70 after drinking alcohol on a friend’s boat when she crossed the center line and struck Grabowski, who was traveling north on the same road.

Grabowski was pronounced dead at the scene.

Zelinske will serve her time in the women’s correctional facility in Shakopee, Minn.
