MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 24-year-old woman has been charged in connection to the 40-mile high-speed police chase that began in Minneapolis and ended near Jordan, Minn. Monday, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced.
On Wednesday, Diane Roberta Chosa was charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, which is a felony.
Minneapolis Police spokesman John Elder said officers initially noticed suspicious activity at the intersection of 36th and Fremont in north Minneapolis Monday. When Chosa saw police, she took off.
“A pursuit ensued, multiple agencies were involved including the State Patrol and the State Patrol helicopter,” Elder said.
The chase began on Interstate 394 and eventually ended on Highway 169 in Jordan when the car broke down. Chosa allegedly got out of the car and tried to run but was quickly apprehended. No one was hurt in the incident.
The passenger was not charged.
Chosa is expected to make her first court appearance Thursday.
